Dear Parents,
The IOWA test series has been completed. The children did a great job! I am sure that they did well on the tests. They are due a well deserved holiday, which is well timed since the Mid-Semester break begins next Thursday, May 17. We will return to school on Monday, May 21.
The performance of Annie will be on Friday, May 25. Please make sure to reserve your tickets. It is going to be a wonderful show. Miss Faye and the Drama Club have worked very hard to create a show to be remembered… it is not to be missed.
In Math, we completed Chapter 16: Plane Figures and will take the test Tuesday, May 15. We will begin Chapter 17: Congruence, Symmetry, and Transformations on Wednesday. This is a relatively short chapter, five lessons, so we should complete it the week we return from break. In Science, we continued with Chapter 8, Lesson 3: Slow Changes to Earth’s Surface. We will review Chapter 8 on Monday and have the test on Wednesday, May 16. We will begin Chapter 9: Managing Earth’s Resources on our return from break. In Social Studies, we will continue with Chapter 6, Lesson 1: Factories Bring Change next week. In English, we began Unit 7: Adverbs and Prepositions, covering Lesson 1: What is an Adverb? We will continue with this unit next week. In Reading, we will continue with Marven of the Great North Woods next week. We will begin our new story, The Last Dragon, when we return from break.
