Dear Parents,
I would like to first thank you for taking the time to meet with me this week to discuss your children. They are truly a great group of students! It was a pleasure to talk with you. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you ever have any questions or concerns.
Much of this week has been spent preparing for the Science Fair, which will be on Wednesday, April 25th. The students have been working hard the past few weeks on conducting their experiments and creating their posters. Grades 4 – 6 will be presenting their projects from 9:00 - 10:15. Please join us if your schedule allows.
In Math, we completed Chapter 14: Collect and Analyze Data and began Chapter 15: Graph Data. We completed up to Lesson 2: Circle Graphs. This chapter is a short five lessons, so we will complete it by next Wednesday and have the test on Friday. We will also begin Unit 6: Geometry and Measurement at the end of next week. This unit contains three chapters beginning with Chapter 16: Plane Figures. In Science, we completed Chapter 8, Lesson 2: Rapid Changes to Earth’s Surface. We will begin Lesson 3: Slow Changes to Earth’s Surface next week. In Social Studies, we completed Chapter 5, and the children took their test on Thursday. The test will be returned on Monday. We will begin Chapter 6: Industry Takes Over next week. In English, we continued studying Unit 6: Pronouns, completing up to Lesson 6: Contractions with Pronouns. We will complete this unit by next week and the students will take their test over Unit 6 the following week.
In Reading, we completed our first story in Theme 4, My Name is Maria Isabel. The children will take a comprehension and language skills test on Monday, April 23rd. We will begin our new story, Marven of the Great North Woods on Monday.
I hope you have a nice weekend!
Best regards,
