Dear Parents,
The second semester is off to a great start!
In Math, we completed Chapter 10: Number Theory and Mean. The children performed very well on their test! We also began Chapter 11: Divide by Two-Digit Divisors. In Science, we completed Chapter 7, Lesson 1: Adaptations for Survival and began Lesson 2: Threats to Survival. In Social Studies, we completed Chapter 5, Lesson 1: Looking for Furs. We will cover Lesson 2: Building Ships next week. In Reading, we completed The Stranger. The children performed well on their comprehension and language skills tests for the story. In English, we continued Unit 5: Capitalization and Punctuation covering up to Lesson 3: Capitalizing Names of Places and Things.
In addition to regular class work, the students are also learning about Madagascar in preparation for International Week, February 20 – 24. I have included two interesting sites below to help them learn more about this fascinating country.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
I hope you have a lovely weekend!
Best regards,
Mr. Ahlers
