Dear Parents,
It has been a lovely week in 4th grade. The children did a wonderful job at Fun Day!
In Math, we completed up to lesson three in chapter 5: Algebraic Reasoning and the students took the chapter 4 test. In Science, we began chapter 4, lesson two: Inherited and Learned Behavior. We will complete that early next week and then begin our study of Ecosystems. In Social Studies, the students began to study the regions of the United States, starting with the Southeast. In Reading, we completed unit 1: Journeys with a comparison of two different journeys. Next week, we will begin unit 2: American Stories. In English, the students completed unit 2: Nouns and will start unit 3: Verbs on Monday. They are also close to finishing their series of journal entries about their personal interests and will begin writing about their dreams next week. In Art, we did our final Paul Klee piece, a doodle drawing of a person.
Also, I would like to thank you for completing the preconference form I sent home. It will help us to have a productive dialogue about your child. I look forward to meeting with you on Tuesday or Wednesday. If you are unable to come either evening and would like to meet with me, please contact me to arrange an appointment.
Best regards,
Mr. Ahlers
