Greeting parents,
Yet another week has passed. The children did an excellent job!
In Math, we have completed Chapter 3 and will take the test on Tuesday. The students will then start Chapter 4: Multiplication and Division. In Science, we completed Chapter 3, Lesson 2 and will have a quiz over the material on Wednesday. Over the weekend, the students will read Chapter 3, Lesson 3: Parents and Offspring. We will complete this lesson early next week and have our Chapter test on Friday. The students will then move on to Chapter 4: Responding to the Environment, which will lead us in to Ecosystems. In Social Studies, the children took their first test, over Chapter 1. The class did very well! We will begin Chapter 2: Regions and Borders on Tuesday. The students will read the first lesson over the weekend so they are familiar with the material. In English, the students took their test over Unit 1: Sentences and did very well. We also began Unit 2: Nouns. The students also presented their descriptive paragraphs to the class. Next week, we will begin their next writing unit, Personal Narrative. In Reading, the class voted to read By the Shores of Silver Lake instead of
Finding the Titanic. In Art class, we worked on a recreation of a Paul Klee work,
Castle and Sun. The students will finish work on their piece over next week and we will then begin a Paul Klee inspired portrait.
