Time is flying!

Hello Parents,

Thank you for attending parent’s night.  It was a pleasure to meet and chat with you.  If you did not have an opportunity to attend and would like to talk with me, or if you ever have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at ahlers.his@gmail.com, and we can schedule an appointment.

It was a short, productive week in 4^th grade.  The children took their first Math test and performed very well.  We also began chapter 2, learning to compare numbers and money.  In Science, we finished chapter 1, lesson 1: Characteristics of Living Things, and began lesson 2: Life Processes of Plants.  In Social Studies, we began lesson 2 of unit 1, discussing climate and landforms.  In English, the students began learning about proper sentence structure and the different types of sentences.  They also continued going over the steps of the writing process, which will culminate with a descriptive paragraph.  In Reading, we continued with Akiak and worked on summarizing skills.  They will have quiz over the story and the vocabulary on Monday.
